Request for your help from Illinois State VA
As some of you know, State VA reps from the around the country have contacted me through the website in efforts of helping those Veterans that Veterans Affairs has turned down. In some cases, for a single illogical reason like the David Hill case. Some of these requests for assistance are for the herbicide data I have gathered or for documented evidence of combat operations of my own unit and the grid locations.
Which, by the way, I will be AWOL from the herbicide issues for awhile unless we have some very important news. Of course, for me, all of it is important. I need to finish up my 2/94th Battalions History from 1966 to 1972 in Nam in preparation for our 5th reunion. My guys have waited long enough for me to finish this and I owe them and their families that since we are losing so many and while I can still get it done.
This will be placed in honor of this unit’s service for six years of documented combat service in Vietnam under the 1st and 3rd Marine Divisions, the 101st AMBL, and the last brigade units of the Americal Division that were left in Vietnam in 1972; at West Point, Institute of Heraldry and Fort Sill, OK (home of the Artillery). Ironically, Veterans Affairs continually denies that my officers and enlisted even served in combat because of the stupid Army rule at that time that did not allow combat awards for other than the Infantry.
There is no way for me to help in the below request as I was up on the DMZ my entire time in country. Maybe some of you might be able to help this Marine or know of someone that served in his unit.
Any help will be appreciated.
